Proof Silver EaglesIn 2001, the Proof Silver Eagles moved from the Philadelphia Mint to the West Point Mint for their proof coin launch that year. According to the US Mint, this move was due to the plan to consolidate the production of all the American Eagles, including the gold, silver, and platinum versions. The US Mint is planning on keeping the production of Proof Silver Eagles and the coins will all have the “W” mint mark.
